The Feather & Frame Story

Owners/Artists
Dennis Bennett & Kim Bennett

At The Feather & Frame, our journey has grown naturally—just like the landscapes we love.

Dennis Bennett has always been an outdoors guy. Hiking, fishing, and exploring the

Pacific Northwest were his go-to ways to unwind whenever he had a moment of free time.

Kim Bennett, his wife, also shared a deep connection with nature—finding inspiration for her

artwork in the quiet moments outside. The pair have been enjoying life together since 2012.

As life got busier (as it tends to do), free time became harder to find—for both their

individual interests and their time together. To stay active outdoors, Dennis got hooked on

birdwatching, reveling in the thrill of identifying different species. Photography quickly

followed, capturing his favorite moments. Not one to miss out on Dennis’s adventures,

Kim began tagging along whenever she could—especially if the destination involved water.

These trips became their special time together, usually quick escapes to small Washington

towns like La Conner or short getaways to the Cascades.

Dennis’s love of bird photography soared (pun intended), and he began sharing incredible

shots of eagles in flight, playful sparrows, and shimmering hummingbirds on Facebook.

Kim couldn’t help but admire his talent—and was often the willing driver of their adventures,

pulling over on the side of skinny roads while Dennis dashed across fields to snag the

perfect shot of a sand crane.

Fast forward to 2025: Kim found herself at a crossroads and decided to leave her corporate

career behind for a more creative path. Inspired by Dennis’s artistry, she wanted to combine

her love of painting and writing with his stunning photography. One day, while scrolling through

Facebook, Kim saw Dennis’s latest batch of bird photos and realized they deserved more than

a digital life—they deserved to be showcased as prints. She asked Dennis if she could share

his work publicly, and with his blessing, The Feather & Frame was born.

Kim dove into her new creative endeavors, picking up brushes more often, learning to

digitize her art, and starting their blog "Behind the Frame" to share not only their outdoor

adventures, but also the towns and small businesses they discovered along the way.

Together, Dennis and Kim transformed their passions into a platform that celebrates the

beauty of nature and their shared journey.

Today, The Feather & Frame is all about bringing nature’s magic into your life—

whether it’s through art prints, décor, or inspiring stories of their adventures. Dennis and Kim

hope their creations spark the same appreciation for the outdoors that drives them, and they

encourage you to visit the places they cherish—for the scenery, the shopping, or even

just the incredible food and drinks!
